Embedded systems & edge computing, built end-to-end

The smartest decision increasingly has to happen at the device itself — and that takes engineering most partners can’t reach. We build it from the firmware up.

Building intelligent products takes more than one specialty.

Few teams can engineer everything between the device and the cloud. We can. Explore the capabilities that help you build reliable, intelligent, connected products from end to end.

Engineer the device

Microcontroller Firmware

Build efficient, secure firmware for tightly constrained hardware, designed to run untouched for years.

ENGINEER THE DEVICE

Embedded Linux

Engineer Linux-based devices that run real applications, handle connectivity, and stay updatable for years in the field.

EDGE INTELLIGENCE

Edge Computing

Process data where it’s created, so systems respond instantly and keep working when the connection drops.

EDGE INTELLIGENCE

Edge AI

Run real models on the device itself, so decisions happen in the moment even when the cloud isn’t an option.

EDGE INTELLIGENCE

Sensor Fusion & Real-Time Analytics

Combine sensor data into real-time insight so your products can sense, decide, and respond in the moment.

CONNECT AND SCALE

IoT Platforms & Connectivity

Keep devices connected reliably, from a single unit to hundreds of thousands in the field.

CONNECT AND SCALE

Device Lifecycle & Security

Manage updates, monitoring, and security throughout the entire lifecycle of every connected device.

The best proof we build connected products? We run our own.

CallBox is our end-to-end IoT framework, spanning firmware, cloud, web, and mobile. It powers hundreds of thousands of production devices, giving us firsthand experience building, operating, and supporting connected products at scale.

The smartest decisions happen at the device.

More and more, intelligence is moving to the edge. Decisions that once relied on the cloud increasingly need to happen on the device itself, in real time, where waiting isn’t an option.

The reasons are practical. A machine can’t wait for a cloud round-trip before it reacts. A system still has to work when the network drops. And some data can’t leave the building because of security, compliance, or operational requirements. That’s why more organizations are moving intelligence closer to where the work happens.

The edge is where most technology partners reach their limit.

Plenty of firms can build the application and the cloud behind it. The work gets harder where software meets hardware—the firmware, embedded systems, and intelligence running on the device itself. That’s a different discipline, and a rare one.

It’s also the one we’re built for. We engineer every layer, from firmware on the board to edge intelligence and the connected platforms that keep products running at scale. That’s a range few partners can credibly span, but it’s exactly what building reliable, connected products demands.

Let's talk about what you're building.

Launching a new connected product or bringing intelligence to the machines you already run starts with the same conversation. We’ll help you find the right path and engineer the solution from the firmware up.

Frequently asked questions

Do you build the hardware itself, or the software that runs on it?

We don’t manufacture hardware, but our work goes deeper than software alone. Clients often bring us in to lead the engineering effort, coordinating hardware and software so the entire product works as one system. The result is a connected product that’s engineered together, not stitched across vendors who never spoke.

What's the difference between your embedded and edge work and your IoT services?

This is the engineering depth — the firmware, embedded systems, and on-device intelligence at and near the device. Our IoT Platforms & Connectivity work is the applied side: building and operating a fully connected product, device to cloud, with the platform and business case behind it. Most connected products draw on both.

Can you work with the devices and equipment we already have?

Often, yes. Many projects begin by bringing intelligence to existing equipment rather than replacing it. Capturing the data your machines already produce and adding edge analytics can often deliver value faster than building something new from scratch.

How do you handle security for connected devices?

Security is designed in from the start, not bolted on later. We engineer secure firmware, protected communication, and remote update capabilities so devices stay secure throughout their lifecycle — not just on launch day.

Do we have to use CallBox?

No. CallBox can save months when it fits, and it keeps you free of third-party vendor lock-in — but it’s an accelerator, not a requirement. When a different approach serves your product better, we’ll say so.

We're still early in the process. Can you help us figure out what to build?

Absolutely. Many engagements begin before the hardware or software is fully defined. We help define the problem, identify the right architecture, and determine where embedded systems, edge computing, and connectivity create the most value. From there, we engineer the solution from the firmware up.
