Position Overview

We are looking for a Data Engineering Intern to join our data team. In this role, you will work alongside experienced engineers to help build, maintain, and optimize data pipelines and infrastructure that power our analytics and data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing, building, and maintaining scalable ETL/ELT pipelines
  • Support data ingestion from a variety of sources including APIs, databases, and flat files
  • Help monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline failures and performance issues
  • Write clean, well-documented SQL and Python code for data transformation tasks
  • Collaborate with data analysts and scientists to understand data requirements
  • Contribute to data quality checks, validation frameworks, and testing
  • Participate in code reviews and team standups
  • Document data flows, schemas, and processes

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Familiarity with Python or another programming language
  • Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases
  • Exposure to data concepts such as data modeling, ETL processes, or data warehousing (coursework counts)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Eagerness to learn and ability to work independently

Nice to Have

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Familiarity with tools like Spark, Airflow, dbt, or Kafka
  • Knowledge of version control with Git
  • Prior internship or project experience with data pipelines or large datasets
